Thin steps and noisy charts

When a step has too few users, the drop-off percentage becomes theater. Here is how we set thresholds.

Percentage drops look decisive until you notice the denominator. We prefer absolute counts beside rates, and we pause claims when a step’s sample cannot support a confident story. Leadership gets fewer charts and clearer confidence language—which is usually what they needed.
